Prechool Bento- 4th of July

My son’s new school started recently and I have been preparing his lunch box this week as the school does not provide lunch like his previous school.
This is my first experience and I thought it was tough but he is eating everything I cooked so far.
I am so glad he is enjoying his new school.

I cooked his favorite pasta lunch with “4th of July” theme today!.
The bottom next to Flag is lady liberty (Statue of Liberty).
Here is what I prepared. It takes only 10 minutes preparation night before and 10 minutes cooking in the morning.

[Preparation (Night before)]

  1. Cook pasta- tri-color spiral pasta
  2. While cooking pasta, cut veggies /add pinch of salt and steam them about 2-3 minutes- broccoli, zucchini, carrot, corn
  3. Cook minced chicken with my handmade sauce (minced garlic, grated ginger, soy sauce, maple syrup, sesame oil)
  4. Cut fruit and put it in container (I put fruit separate container) and put in fridge. -cantaloupe, apple, blueberry, strawberry

[Morning – Cooking pasta lunch]

  1. In the pan, add olive oil and saute garlic, veggies, meat about 30 sec to 1 minutes.
  2. Add 1 tsp water, cooked pasta in to the pan and cook about 1-2 minutes
  3. lightly season with salt and pepper (and 2 drop of soy sauce)

Statue of Liberty: I used zucchini, Nori, flags

In Summer time, for safety, I heat through all food, and cool it down before packing into container.
Also I put ice pack box on the container of uncooked food like Fruit.

Happy 4th of July and I hope everyone have great long weekend!
