Braised Pork in Jasmine and Chicken Ham

I cooked Jasmine Tea Pork (Braised Pork in Jasmine Tea) for New Year’s Day and I would like to share my recipe with you.

Recipe is easy and very simple. Just simmer pork for an hour with Jasmine Tea!! After simmering fatty pork long time, you can reduce fat and rid the meat of its smell.

Ingredients
  • 1 lb pork belly
  • 2 Jasmine tea bag
[Sauce]
  • 2 scallion minced
  • 2 Tablespoon Soy sauce
  • 2 Tablespoon mirin
  • 1 teaspoon sesame oil
  • 1 teaspoon Gochujang
  • 1 teaspoon honey or maple syrup
  • 1-2 teaspoon rice vinegar
Instructions
  1. Put the pork belly in the high heated fry pan, sear fat side surfaces until brown.
  2. Stock pork in the Le Creuset pot and cover with warm water. Add Jasmine Tea bag and close with lids.
  3. Once the water has come to a boil, reduce the heat to low. Simmer the pork belly for 1 hours. Leave pot as it is until completely cool down.
  4. After pork completely cool, put them into fridge about an hour.
  5. Mix all sauce ingredients.
  6. Slice them and serve them with sauce.

 

Instead of Jasmine tea, you can use green tea or other  your favorite tea.

You can large amount and keep these in fridge or freezer too.
